"Pasalubong" from La Union

According to wikipedia, “Pasalubong” is the Filipino tradition of giving a homecoming gift. Literally, it is a Tagalog word meaning “(something) meant for you when you welcome me back”. It is one of the most distinct and widely practiced of all Filipino traditions. Pasalubong can be any gift or souvenir or a delicacy brought for family, loved ones, friends, coworkers after being away for a period of time, after a short trip or vacation or going to a province or a foreign land.

In La Union, we stopped by to get some pasalubong. As we were looking for some delicacies, we found this line of huts of garlic, different kinds of dried fish and squid, "bagoong" or fish sauce, "basi" or rice wine, brooms and "ube" yam.
