Originally built in 1918 by American architects, the capitol building of Pangasinan was destroyed in World War II. It was rebuilt in 1945 to it's original splendor and continues to serve as the provincial capitol today.
As we were driving to Dagupan in Pangasinan, we passed by the Lingayen Capitol Building. It has a nice garden around it and good thing we decided to get off the car and see the building itself. Later on we found out that it is one of the most beautiful capitol buildings in the Philippines.
It was a hot Sunday morning, but the facade of the capitol building was so nice to look at that we decided to take some pictures.
The markers of the majestic Capitol Building
The door of the main building was open so we entered it. Just at the entrance we saw the official seal of Pangasinan.

As we were taking pictures, the security guard told us to climb up to the second floor as there was a guide in the information booth. On the second floor, we were greeted by Ms. Marie who was a volunteer there. She then showed us the Provincial Council Session Hall. It was pretty cool with its wooden floor, walls and furnitures.
Ms. Marie then led us to the Governor's Office. It was like one of the rooms in the US White House.

It was such a nice experience seeing the Lingayen Capitol Building. Aside from its beautiful building, we were amazed at how the province has an open building policy. We were able to see the entire building, it's offices and even the roof top. Not all government buildings in the Philippines allow people to enter but the people of Pangasinan are sure proud of their own Capitol Building.
