Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay City

Last week, we decided to have a quick trip to Tagaytay City, in Cavite. This place is a one and a half drive from Manila, well depending on the traffic. It was a weekday, so we were thinking that the hotel would be deserted and we booked immediately after lunch time, packed our things and left Manila.

From Ortigas Center, we were on EDSA in no time, then took the South Luzon Expressway- Skyway. We didn't take the Sta. Rosa exit as we knew that traffic would be bad there because of the jeepneys and tricycles. Instead, we took the Greenfield Exit past Sta. Rosa and headed towards Paseo de Sta. Rosa mall, were we turned left towards the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road.

After 30 minutes, we reached the intersection and turned right and reached Discovery Country Suites in just 5 minutes. It was a fast travel and we couldn't believe that it only took us an hour and 10 minutes to get there.

We stayed at the Narra-Premier Suite. It was located at the lower ground floor and the glass door opens directly to the garden. The room carries a Japanese motif with its speckled tiles, pebbled floors, wooden SOJI sliding doors, Japanese dolls, and tatami mats. It was a big room., about 57 square meters.

It was relaxing during that afternoon and evening because only two rooms were occupied including ours. Even in the restaurant, it was just us who had dinner. The Verbena Restaurant was more of fine dining. Of course, I had bulalo, which Tagaytay is famous for. The waiter said that during weekdays, almost nobody stays there. To check the menu in the Verbena Restaurant, please click the links below:

That night, after dinner, we stayed in the jacuzzi. Although not hot, as we were expecting, it was warm enough that we stayed there for an hour. We also had a massage which was offered by the hotel until 9pm.

Massage Services:

Services available
Swedish
Shiatsu
Egyption foot reflexology
P900, one hour
Combination massage
P1,500, for two hours

After the massage we were served with hot milk and warm cookies.

The following morning, we had the complimentary breakfast. Food once again was good in The Verbena. After breakfast I did some macro photography, after which we were served with the complimentary wine tasting with cheese by the graden. Everything was perfect and relaxing.

Discovery Country Suites is a good place to relax, especially on weekdays. It a place where one can just enjoy the quietness of nature and to escape the business of the metropolis. We promised to come back soon.
